Vale Dams
Sudbury Basin, ON

TULLOCH performed annual Dam Safety Inspections of 66 dams and water management facilities at 12 mine sites across the Sudbury Basin, including closed mine tailings dams and concrete control structures. Our services included site inspection of the various structures, review of the existing instrumentation systems and historical studies and preparation of dam safety inspection reports.

TULLOCH performed a Dam Safety Review for the 244m high Mica Dam, the tallest dam in Canada. Our services included site inspection and engineering assessment of the dam and appurtenant structures, evaluation of the existing instrumentation systems, review of historical design and dam safety studies and action plan recommendations.

TULLOCH is the geotechnical Engineer of Record for the 1.2km long bridge, the first infrastructure project in Canada to be delivered using an Integrated Project Delivery model. Our expertise and services provided to the design-build team includes on and off-shore site investigations, foundation design, embankments, retaining walls and causeways, instrumentation and seismic site response analysis.
