The Geotechnical Engineering Team at TULLOCH offers services to infrastructure, mining, and energy clients throughout Ontario and Canada.  We provide expertise and experience in executing high complexity site investigations for large-scale developments, often located in remote areas.  Our Engineering work encompasses specialized foundation and earthwork engineering, design of shoring and ground improvement schemes, design, construction and safety reviews of dams as well as forensic investigations.     

 

We are currently looking for a full time Junior/Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team.  This is a permanent full-time position to begin as soon as a successful candidate is found.

 

Qualifications

  • University degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering (MS in Geotechnical Engineering preferred);

  • Geotechnical EIT with Professional Engineers Ontario; P. Eng., license is an asset;

  • 5-8 years of experience in the geotechnical consulting industry;

  • Geotechnical investigation project management experience;

  • Site investigation and construction inspection experience;

  • Experience with geotechnical analysis and design software;

  • Proposal preparation experience;

  • Experience with dams (design, construction, dam safety assessment) an asset;

  • Class “G” driver’s license is required and willingness to travel (Northern Ontario and across Canada);

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills;

  • Organizational skills, strong work ethic, problem solving and decision-making skills, self-initiative, and eagerness to learn.

 

Responsibilities

  • Participation in all stages of site investigation including proposal preparation, sub-contractor liaison, work plan development and co-ordination, field investigations and reporting;

  • Design analysis (bearing capacity, settlement, seepage, slope stability etc.) and recommendations;

  • Oversee multiple geotechnical projects simultaneously;

  • Provide training to junior personnel;

  • Project management including planning, reporting, and tracking schedules and budget;

  • Strong client liaison and communications.
